Carnival Cruise Line announced on June 17, 2026 the completion of a new round of upgrades at Celebration Key, its exclusive private destination in the Bahamas. The work added an expanded white sand beach front along with new guest amenities, building on the destination's inaugural opening earlier in 2026.
Celebration Key has quickly become a central port on Carnival's short-Caribbean itineraries, with ships including Carnival Elation, Carnival Horizon, and Carnival Vista all scheduled to call there regularly through 2026 and into 2027. The June 17 announcement signals that the destination is now in its fuller operational form, which matters for guests who booked early sailings when some features were still under construction.
The expansion is part of Carnival's broader strategy of owning or developing private ports to capture more guest spending ashore rather than at independently run destinations. Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day CocoCay and NCL's Great Stirrup Cay are its main benchmarks in this space, and each line is actively adding capacity and attractions at its respective island.
