Carnival unveiled its patriotic programming for America's 250th anniversary, centered on ship meetups with fireworks on both coasts, community homeport celebrations, and fleet-wide onboard activities. As an official America250 partner, Carnival describes itself as sailing more Americans than any other cruise line.
On July 4, seven ships sailing from the East Coast will rendezvous near Carnival's exclusive destination Celebration Key in Grand Bahama for a special fireworks show. Three ships will simultaneously position on the West Coast for the Port of San Diego's Big Bay Boom, for which Carnival is the official cruise line sponsor. The announcement came alongside the rollout of a new bow crest reading "From Sea to Shining Sea" on U.S. ships, starting with Carnival Magic and Carnival Legend.
One military family on each sailing during the week of July 4 will receive an American flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol, and all veterans and active-duty military on those sailings will receive a special edition military pin. Homeport community celebrations are also planned aboard Carnival Pride in Baltimore on June 28, Carnival Radiance in Long Beach on June 30, Carnival Elation in Jacksonville on July 2, and Carnival Paradise in Tampa on July 2.
