Celebrity Cruises announced it will raise all of its automatic gratuities by about $1.50 per person per day, bringing the new rates to $19.50 for standard cabins, $20.50 for Concierge and AquaClass cabins, and $24.50 for The Retreat. The rates apply per person, per day, with standard cabins covering Inside, Oceanview, and Veranda staterooms. Celebrity says the new rates took effect on July 29, 2026.
The change follows a familiar pattern across the cruise industry, where lines periodically adjust service charges to keep pace with crew compensation increases. Passengers who prepaid gratuities before July 29 are typically shielded from the new rate on existing bookings, but anyone booking or updating a reservation after that date will see the higher figures reflected in their total cost. Royal Caribbean International's own gratuity schedule remains separately set.
