Disney Cruise Line began rolling out a set of policy updates on June 3, 2026, with the last ship in the fleet, Disney Dream and Disney Wonder, adopting them by June 8. The most discussed change halves the wine allowance: guests aged 21 and over may now bring one unopened bottle of wine or champagne (maximum 750 ml) per cruise, down from two bottles previously. Up to six beers (12 oz or smaller) are still permitted. Alcohol purchased at ports of call will be collected by crew and held until the final night of the voyage rather than being delivered to staterooms.
As a partial offset, Disney reduced its corkage fee from $29 to $20 per bottle at dining venues. The line also tightened stateroom door decoration rules: personalizations are now confined to the cabin door only, with no decorations permitted on hallway walls or ceilings. Selfie sticks, extension poles, and tripods may still be brought onboard but must remain folded and under 18 inches when used in public areas.
Passenger reaction on social media was notably negative, with many arguing the changes amount to a revenue push at the expense of the onboard experience. Disney has not indicated any plan to reverse the policies, and they apply to all sailings beginning on or after each ship's designated rollout date.
