Norwegian Cruise Line confirmed on May 28, 2026 that its new Great Tides Waterpark at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas will open on September 4, 2026, coinciding with the arrival of Norwegian Luna on a seven-day Caribbean sailing from Miami. Day passes and private cabanas for the park went on sale the same day, giving passengers planning fall sailings a concrete booking window.
The nearly six-acre park features 19 waterslides anchored by a 170-foot Tidal Tower, an 800-foot adventure river, a 9,000-square-foot kids' splash zone called Splash Cay, and cliff-jumping attractions that NCL describes as an industry first. The Breakwater Blasters water coasters, which send riders through downhill drops and uphill blasts on an inner tube, are also being billed as a first for the cruise industry. The waterpark is designed for a capacity of around 1,200 guests at a time.
The opening builds on infrastructure already completed at Great Stirrup Cay in early 2026, including a new cruise ship pier, a lagoon-style pool with swim-up bars, and an adults-only Vibe Shore Club. NCL projects it will welcome one million guests to the island across 15 of its ships in 2026. For deal hunters, NCL.com is listing Caribbean and Bahamas sailings with Great Stirrup Cay calls across multiple ships and departure ports through the fall.
