Royal Caribbean quietly rolled out two paid shore excursions at Perfect Day CocoCay this week, giving repeat visitors fresh reasons to spend more time ashore. The first is a beachside painting class called "Paint by the Sea," aimed at guests who prefer a creative outing over slides and pools. The second is a guided nature hike that takes participants off CocoCay entirely, sailing them over to the nearby island of Great Harbour Cay, where they walk through forest canopies, spot native wildlife, and learn about Bahamian history.
Both excursions are paid add-ons, in line with how Royal Caribbean structures most optional island activities. The line noted the hike involves extended walking over uneven surfaces and is not recommended for guests using wheelchairs. The additions come as the line continues investing in CocoCay following the earlier opening of the adults-only Hideaway Beach and the Secret Garden Bar, a shaded, library-equipped retreat that opened in July 2026.
For cruisers who have already checked off the waterslides, overwater cabanas, and the freshwater Oasis Lagoon, the new excursions offer something genuinely different. Royal Caribbean Blog flagged the update on September 4, 2026, and noted that the hike departs from CocoCay but the destination itself is Great Harbour Cay.
