During a press conference held on Legend of the Seas' inaugural sailing, Royal Caribbean CEO Michael Bayley and president Jason Liberty told journalists that the Royal Beach Club Lelepa project in Vanuatu is set to reach a major milestone in July 2026. No further details were shared, leaving fans and travel advisors waiting on what that milestone entails.
The beach club, located on Lelepa Island off the northwest coast of Vanuatu, is scheduled to open in October 2027. It will be the first Royal Caribbean exclusive destination in the Southern Hemisphere and the first private cruise beach club in the South Pacific region. Entry is included in the cruise fare, covering two beaches, a nature trail, dining, and an adults-only cove.
Voyager of the Seas will homeport in Brisbane and call at Lelepa on every South Pacific sailing during the 2027-28 Australian summer season, while Anthem of the Seas will operate from Sydney. The club is designed to welcome up to 5,000 guests per day and is being built as a carbon-neutral destination in partnership with the Vanuatu government.
