On June 11, Royal Caribbean and shipbuilder Chantiers de l'Atlantique held a keel-laying ceremony at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, to kick off physical construction on the seventh Oasis Class ship, set to launch in 2028. Royal Caribbean executives, shipyard officials, and construction crew members attended the ceremony, which marks the beginning of the ship's physical assembly as blocks will now be put into place to bring the ship to life.
Part of the ceremony included sealing freshly minted euro and dollar coins in a tub below the first steel block, a maritime tradition intended to wish good fortune to the ship, her crew, and everyone who sails on her. For now, the ship is known only as B35, but a name is expected to be revealed as excitement builds ahead of the 2028 debut.
Royal Caribbean first announced the order in early 2024, and construction advanced with a steel-cutting ceremony in October 2025, with the project now entering the stage where individual hull sections and modules will be assembled into the completed ship. The soon-to-be-named ship will join the Oasis Class lineup in 2028 and is described as delivering bold new adventures, standout dining, and immersive entertainment.
