Perfect Day Mexico will probably not open on time, according to company executives. Royal Caribbean Group CEO Jason Liberty addressed the project publicly for the first time since the original Mahahual plans were withdrawn, confirming that the original 2027 opening date will likely not happen, while providing no new timeline.
Royal Caribbean had announced Perfect Day Mexico in October 2024 as an exclusive destination in Mahahual, designed to complement Royal Beach Club Cozumel and offer a waterpark, pools, beaches, and dining and entertainment venues in the Western Caribbean. The delay means travelers booking Western Caribbean itineraries for 2027 should not count on the destination as a confirmed port call.
